The change management playbook covers all of the key steps and activities that are required to manage change well. The eight steps are applicable to all projects – however, as each initiative is at a different stage or place in terms of content, complexity, scope and maturity, it is not expected that all the tools will be applied to each project in every circumstance.
The approach along with the templates and tools provided, are designed to be customised to meet the needs of your MDA. Projects should therefore:
Review the project against the eight steps and assess the stage they are at, what has been completed and what still needs to be done
Identify any challenges within the project to understand how the steps, activities and tools within the playbook can help to unblock barriers to progress
Base the change plan on the relevant project stage and select the tools which will support the project to move forward.
Each step in the change process is a chapter. For each step, the chapter describes:
The change management activities necessary to support a programme, project or initiative at this stage, what those activities are and their purpose
How to execute those activities
The tools and templates necessary to support the execution of the various change activities
